“Agostino (1962)” is an Italian film based on a book that was first
published in 1944. Agostino is 13-year-old boy who spends his summer holidays in Venice alone with his
mother. She is a wealthy, beautiful widow and is very popular with local men. Agostino feels betrayed
when his mother strikes up an acquaintance with one of the local gigolos.
